A new addition to our 2017 programme, these tasters will give you the chance to try out a new hobby or a creative skill after work.
Spend the evening working with Shibori dyeing and other techniques to make your own Suffolk puff keyring, using natural dyes from onions and logwood. Take home your creations along with some new skills to practise! With Lara Hailey, Textile Artist
Lara Hailey is a London-based mixed-media artist who explores universal themes of love, loss, identity, and memory. She is inspired by relationships, experiences and particular places or events. Her working method is diverse including stitched textile, mixed media resin, installation, sculpture, prints and video. The use of text also plays an important role in her work.
Between 2003-5 she worked closely with our Education Department to provide site specific textile art workshops for school children as part of our ‘Sloane’s Waistcoat’ project marking the 250th anniversary of Sir Hans Sloane’s death and his links with cotton. http://larahailey.com/
