Join Studio Cultivate at Chelsea Physic Garden in 2017 for

Silk // Unwoven Histories, as we take you on a journey of story-telling and garden exploration.

Weaving our way through Ancient China, to the Roman Empire, and across the war-torn seas of the European Age of Discovery, we’ll learn how a smuggling princess, ruthless pirates and one humble worm came together to help a simple fabric conquer the world.

An exciting event for the whole family.

“Thank you for another fabulous day of high quality education!”

Through a mix of story-telling, self-led exploration and practical activities Studio Cultivate will convey the exciting facts and stories surrounding silk production, and its global spread as a highly desirable fabric.

You will have the chance to plant some mulberry seeds to grow at home.
The day will culminate with you creating silk panels each representing your silk discoveries.

“How quickly the day flew by. There was lots of information but by keeping sections just the right length, we learned lots and enjoyed all of it.”

For ages 7-16

£13 Ticket price includes garden entry. Children must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult throughout the day.
