We are also currently recruiting for a Volunteer Plant Labelling Assistant, details below:  

As an historic botanic garden Chelsea Physic Garden (CPG) carries out ongoing and essential work classifying and labelling its plant collection.

Under the direction of our Plant Records Officer, Tom Wells, we are looking to recruit an individual to work one day a week (ideally Friday), to produce our engraved labels and small signage. The ideal person will have a basic understanding of plant classification, an eye for detail and a working knowledge of PC’s. The individual must demonstrate long term commitment, of at least a year, to this important aspect of our work.

Tasks will include:

  • Styling and laying out a range of label formats plus developing new designs
  • Producing a range of taxonomically accurate labels and signs
  • Working with our Plant Records Officer

Training in using the automated Gravograph label engraving machine will be provided.
