£65
Are you interested in insects and want to know more about them? Do you want to tell a hoverfly from a wasp or identify the different species of bumblebees?
As part of Chelsea Physic Garden’s ongoing biodiversity audit, this half day course provides an opportunity to join the Garden’s Consultant Ecologist, Connor Butler, for a practical session on catching and identifying flying insects within the Garden.
We’ll explore:
-
How to safely catch and observe flying insects
-
How to identify different species of bees, butterflies, wasps, beetles, and flies
-
The different habitats required by each of these insect groups
-
How to use a field guide and identification key
No prior experience is needed—just a passion or interest in learning more about wildlife.
