Performers:

Headliner:
Sloane Monroe

Sloane Monroe, (aka Abigail Adams), is a violinist, vocalist and producer based in London, UK. Her unique performances are influenced by blues, classical, folk and electronic music, in which she combines live looping with electronic violin and voice.

Originally from Florence, Massachusetts (USA), Sloane grew up playing classical and folk violin from the age of 4. Sitting in with bands at contra dances, she learned to pick up tunes by ear. She was inspired to purchase an electric violin and loop pedal when she stumbled upon Andrew Birds ‘Section 8 City’ and thus sparked her journey into song writing and production. She was a member of the Boston Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, performing in their New York Times critically acclaimed Carnegie Hall debut, and attended Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied Classical Violin Performance. Moving to London in 2018, Sloane pursued a Masters Certificate in Jazz Violin at Guildhall School of Music and eventually in Sound Engineering and Music Production at the Abbey Road Institute. After her studies, she was awarded a Tier 1 Visa by the UK Arts Council for her to perform and work in the UK music industry.

Sloane has collaborated with several artists taking on the role of recording engineer, producer, arranger, and songwriter. Some of her highlights include producing classical music alongside John Dunkerley in Abbey Road’s Studio One and Two and engineering for Jazz drummer Romarna Campbell with spoken word artist DemiMa Nokusa Mseleku. She also received the opportunity to record two of her original songs with producer Haydn Bendall (Kate Bush, Tina Turner, Pat Metheny) in Studio Two at Abbey Road and Studio One at Angel Studios. Sloane is also an active session violinist, working with artists like Jamie Campbell Bower, Ben Folds and Antwon Stanley.

Kalila

Neo-Soul singer/songwriter Kalila has been captivating audiences with her blend of smoky, soulful lyrics and sensual, jazzy melodies. Growing up in South-West London, she absorbed a wide range of ideas, styles and influences. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill, her beautifully crafted deeply personal songs reflect the attitudes and complexities of contemporary urban life. Having graced prestigious London venues such as Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, Dingwall’s Camden and The Temple of Art and Music, she has left audiences enticed and spellbound. For the past year she has been in the studio with some of London’s most established producers, working on the creation of her highly anticipated debut ‘Cool Water’. The project is in its final stages and set for release this August. The 5 track EP explores themes of romance, relationships and self empowerment and is sure to make waves this summer.

Claudia Kate

London-based singer-songwriter Claudia Kate has a sound that sits somewhere between the unequivocal outspokenness of Kate Nash and the haunting musicality of Wolf Alice, having also been compared to Brit-nominated Self Esteem for her use of spoken word and her friend-in-me lyricism. Working at home with her producer, Claudia makes a name for herself as a wholly DIY artist. It is evident through both Claudia’s music and social media presence that she is passionate about helping people feel better about themselves, and creating a community surrounding female empowerment. With protest song ‘BIG TALK, little girl’ accumulating over 800K views on Tik Tok and self-love anthem ‘Fat’ silencing audiences at every live performance. At 23, the artist has grown into a sound which blends both her newfound maturity with those fragile feelings felt throughout youth. Claudia is a regular on the London music scene, supporting Ellie Dixon plus playing her first headline show early this year to a sold-out Camden Assembly. Claudia has been consistently supported by BBC Introducing throughout her career, recently making her BBC Radio 1 debut with new single ‘Fizzy’. She describes her music as “music made in a bedroom, to be danced to in a bedroom”.

Ben Yellowitz

Hailing from the industrial city of Birmingham, Benjamin Yellowitz lives beneath his self-built studio in a warehouse in London with several other artists and a worn out cat. Yellowitz is no stranger to the stage – singing with honesty upheld by his captivating stage presence and energetic guitar-percussion. A talented multi-instrumentalist, Yellowitz somehow fuses folk with warm electronica to create a rich feeling that fills the room. A skilled producer, Yellowitz masterfully blends authentic acoustic sounds with his signature electronic production style, creating powerful sonic worlds in various projects including Of Ghosts And Other Forms, collaborations with Adriatique, Nuage, Ae:ther and fellow queer artists like DYVR, as well as live theatre shows with Peculiar Hand. Yellowitz has featured on several BBC Introducing Sessions, and has achieved considerable acclaim in the press with BBC Radio describing his performances as “compelling, emotive and energetic.”
