Art Morphosis/Metamorphosis: “Exploring our relationship to nature and technology through art”
Spend the morning creating and combining art with wellbeing at Chelsea Physic Garden. Feel inspired by nature and join us for a two-hour Art Journeys session comprised of:
- Conversation and refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits)
- A walk around Chelsea Physic Garden pen/pencil sketching flowers
- A few minutes focusing on breathing, with a demonstration of a self-help technique called Havening
- An Art Journey workshop consisting of short, evolving art phases, drawing and being inspired by flowers, taking us on our own expressive journey of self-discovery, which includes self-awareness and creative development
- Group discussion / questions: a few minutes for us to share our experience, and to discuss creative ways of moving forward, with refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits)
Booking Information:
- Tickets are £35 per person
- Your ticket gives you free entry to Chelsea Physic Garden for the day.
- Refreshments (tea, instant coffee, biscuits) will be provided. Participants are responsible for their own allergies and health.
- There are no discounts for Friends of the Garden.
Teachers/Founders:
Catriona Alderton and Nour Saleh
Catriona Alderton
Catriona Alderton is a therapist and artist, qualified in Art Therapy, The Havening Techniques® and the Emmett Technique. She works with individuals and groups, with issues relating from PTSD, addiction and trauma resolution to building resilience, self-esteem and confidence. Her therapy work with Street Talk (supporting vulnerable women who have been trafficked or are in street-based prostitution) contributed to the Charity winning the Centre for Social Justice’s Addiction Award in 2020. She also supports art therapy students with their clinical placements. She is a member of BACP.
Nour Saleh
Nour Saleh is the founder of Art Breath, ( artist, moderator, writer ). A graduate of Central St Martins: BA Fashion Print; SOAS university: MSC International Politics; Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London: Foundation Diploma. She has worked in several fashion houses. Was part of project ‘Art for Life 2014 ’with the British Red Cross; Moderated and developed talk events on arts and politics, as well as book events. She is a Fellow at the RSA.
About Art Journeys
Art Journeys are workshops that combine art and wellbeing. They take the participant on a creative journey, comprised of several art phases, discussion, breathing and a relaxing technique. Art Journeys workshops have been held for The Prince’s Trust, The College of Medicine, NHS Holland Park Surgery and Northamptonshire Healthcare-NHS Foundation Trust
