Join our Head of Plant Collections, Nell Jones, for a very special behind-the-scenes tour of Chelsea Physic Garden now that spring has truly sprung in London’s oldest botanic garden. Our fabulous Head Gardener, Nell Jones, will share her passion for horticulture and will take you to exclusive areas where you will be able to see the work being done by our horticulture team.

Nell has spent over a decade working at the Garden and has led the horticultural team since 2017. Her knowledge and passion for the world-renowned plant collections at the Garden is unrivalled, and her enthusiasm is contagious.

Nell’s tour will feature the usual ‘Behind the Scenes’ favourites, including the tool shed, the potting shed, and the historic boatyard– where the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries used to moor their barge after plant-finding expeditions along the river.

We propagate over 10,000 plants every year at the Garden and you’ll have the chance to see what’s growing in the propagation and pit glasshouses; areas which are not usually  open to the public
