About the event

Chelsea is a vibrant part of London steeped in history. The area has evolved from being a small parish on the banks of the Thames to becoming a global centre for music, fashion, art and culture during the 1960s and 1970s.

Join local resident and former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman as he surveys this fascinating area that has been home to so many talented individuals. Bill has walked every street of this iconic neighbourhood, researching its history and former residents, building up a meticulous knowledge of an area steeped in stories and culture.

Additional information

This event will take place in our first floor ‘Gallery’ space which is accessed via a narrow 22-step staircase with a handrail. Unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible.

About the speaker

Bill Wyman is best known for being the bass player for the Rolling Stones from 1962 until 1993. Since leaving the Stones, he has pursued many other interests. Bill is an avid archivist, collector, photographer and author, and has kept diaries since a young age. He has a great interest in history and has carried out extensive research on the London neighbourhood of Chelsea, where he has lived and worked for much of his life.
