Darwin and Hooker – Chelsea History Festival

Sunday 25 September 2022, 10.30am - 11:30am
£6

To celebrate this year’s Chelsea History Festival join Alexandra Stewart and Joe Todd-Stanton, the author and illustrator of new book Darwin and Hooker, for a draw-along storytelling event for families at Chelsea Physic Garden.

This is the story of a name we all know, Charles Darwin, but also someone he couldn’t have achieved all his discoveries without, Joseph Hooker, a famed botanist and former head of Royal Botanic Garden, Kew. Across many years, countless adventures and numerous letters, this captivating and wonderfully illustrated book tells the story of one of the greatest friendships to happen to science. Publishing in partnership with Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, this book will show children how teamwork, curiosity, openness and trust can be the greatest tools a scientist will ever need.
