Queer Botanical Drawing Workshop
Celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month and A Brush with Nature in a Queer Botanical Drawing Workshop at Chelsea Physic Garden, led by Edward Luke Thrush (he/him). Explore the intersection of nature and queerness through botanical art whilst unlocking your creativity in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Event Details:
- Discover botanical drawing techniques with a focus on queerness and inspiration from nature
- Led by Edward Luke Thrush, a queer artist and educator
- Suitable for all skill levels, from beginner to experienced
- All materials will be supplied, but feel free to bring your own if you have preferred tools or supplies.
Schedule:
- Workshop begins at 1pm and finishes at 4pm
- You are welcome to visit the Garden prior to the event

Tutor Bio:
Edward Luke Thrush (he, him):
This session will be hosted by Edward Luke Thrush (he/him), a designer, illustrator and artist based between Birmingham and London, UK. For his personal work Edward incorporates botanical imagery in his drawings, prints and paintings, using knotted brambles and flora interlaced with litter and other elements of human interaction. His work aims to explore the boundaries of urban and natural spaces whilst evoking issues of discovery, trespass and belonging through the queer perspective.
