Queer Ecology Nature Tour

Sunday 2 February 2025, 11am-1pm
£15

As part of A Dash of Lavender: Celebrating LGBTQ+ history month this February, join us at Chelsea Physic Garden for a guided tour discovering the queer ecology that exists within the walls of London’s oldest botanic garden.

Join Queer ecologist and entomologist Connor Butler to discover plants that change sex, ferns which have evolved to live in social colonies, and woodlice that no longer have a use for males.

This tour invites all curious minds interested in seeing nature from a new perspective. Designed for ages 16+

Tour Leader:

Connor Butler

Connor (he/him) is a Queer ecologist and the Head of Learning & Public Engagement at Chelsea Physic Garden. He has a specialisation in dung beetle ecology and has been surveying London’s dung beetles over the past year. With an aim to help Londoners see “ordinary” wildlife from new perspectives, Connor encourages everyone to take time to appreciate the smallest details in nature and to show love for the often unloved creatures on our diverse planet.
