Summer Sound Bath
Join yoga and sound meditation teacher Katie from Live Karma Yoga who will guide you through a restorative practice and sound bath using organic and ancient instruments, including a drum, bowls, and voice.
The session will start outdoors with a ‘forest bathing’ mindful walking practice in the Garden to settle busy minds and arrive in the body, slow the pace, and connect with nature. You will then be guided through a series of gentle flow movements indoors to warm the body and prepare to receive sound.
You will then be invited to rest deeply, experiencing sound as a meditative tool (which has roots tracing back to ancient times). Sound waves vibrate and resonate through our whole being, our bones, our cells, our brain waves and systems; once the sympathetic nervous system is calmed and flows into a parasympathetic state, no longer caught up in mind chatter and hypervigilance, our imaginative, creative, and intuitive capacities have space to surface and unravel.
Gathering together and collectively experiencing sound is an accessible and universal, ancient, present, and powerful practice. Experience the vibrational sounds, come with an open mind, just as you are, all welcome.
