Leave a gift in your Will
Leaving a gift to the Garden in your Will, even if just a small percentage of your estate, can help create a living legacy and keep the Garden growing for future generations.
Chelsea Physic Garden would not exist today if it were not for forward thinking and generous individuals from the past, who helped create and safeguard the Garden as a place where plants are protected for the benefit of current and future generations.
As a charity, we rely on gifts, grants, and donations to help us care for the Garden, which is a privilege and a major responsibility that we simply could not do alone. By leaving a percentage of your estate as a gift in your Will, you can help us to keep growing for future generations.
Recently, gifts in Wills have enabled us to restore our glasshouses, provide work experience opportunities for students, purchase new bespoke plant pots for our pelargonium collection, and generally support the costs of running an educational charity. Together, these gifts help us meet our immediate needs as well as developing to safeguard the Garden into the future.
How your gift will help
Chelsea Physic Garden is as a charity, with education as its principal purpose, and is dedicated to helping people connect with plants for the benefit of all humankind. This means caring for our living collection of 4,500 plant species and providing opportunities for people to visit, engage, and explore.
Chelsea Physic Garden means so much to so many people, whether for learning, leisure, wellbeing, inspiration, or the simply the joy of being in nature. If you would like to help us care for the Garden, one such way is to remember us as a charity in your Will, once you have taken care of your loved ones.
Gifts in Wills can help us to care for the historically and botanically significant plant collections at the Garden, encourage and engage visitors to discover the power and properties of plants and nature, and to create a sustainable future.
Some of the individuals who have chosen to leave us a gift in their Will, giving back to the Garden through a lasting legacy, have told us their reasons for doing so:
“My father was a gardener (for a family living in a manor house in Hertfordshire) all his life, receiving a long service medal from the Royal Horticultural Society. After I retired and learned of the existence of the Chelsea Physic Garden I became a Friend, and soon after included CPG as one of my beneficiaries in my Will. I just thought it would be a nice thing to do and know that the money would be well spent.” – Brenda
“I am leaving a bequest to the Chelsea Physic Garden to help it thrive and give pleasure to future generations” – Judith
