Seed Dispersal
Discover the magic of the plant life cycle in our Seed Dispersal session. Students will examine a variety of seedheads and find out how they disperse in different ways.
Enjoy a tour through the Garden where students will see seeds disperse first hand. Students will have a chance to plant their own seeds to take home and experience the wonderful plant life cycle for themselves.
This workshop is available July to December.
Learning Objectives:
Children will:
- Understand the importance of seed dispersal.
- Identify different types of seed dispersal.
- Recognise adaptations for seed dispersal.
- Investigate seed dispersal in local habitats.
- Develop scientific inquiry skills.
- Understand the role of humans in seed dispersal.
- Appreciate the diversity of plant life.
- Understand what a seed will need to grow

Please be aware that schools' sessions are either from usually from 10am - 12pm or 1pm - 3pm. We will create an itinerary for you based on the availability of our Chelsea Physic Garden educators.
