Early years and primary school visits
We currently offer three pre-planned sessions for KS1 & 2 that have been designed to maximise the use of our outdoor space and ensure that we are able to maintain social distancing. We can accommodate 30 pupils, however, in order to adhere to social distancing, it might be necessary to split the class into smaller groups, some of which will have self-led activities.
Pre-planned sessions
These sessions are appropriate for KS1 & KS2. To make a booking please use the enquiry form below.
Plant Hunters
Armed with a map, scientist’s notebook and magnifying glass, students will investigate the different environments in which plants live and identify some of the adaptations that have allowed plants to colonise these environments.
Habitats
Students will explore the exciting range of habitats at Chelsea Physic Garden, including our pond and log pile. They will learn how to identify a variety of plant and animal species and discover how different species have become well suited to unique habitats. Students will also explore the principle of simple food webs.
Seed Dispersal
Discover the interesting world of seed production and seed dispersal. Students will examine seeds from around the world, create observational drawings and identify dispersal methods. Students will also have the opportunity to plant their own seed to take away with them.
Booking enquiry
In addition to our pre-planned sessions we can also prepare bespoke sessions for both Early Years and Primaries.
